These are the guys and gals that make it possible!

Without the nearly 100 Officers in Grays Harbor County, the Shop With a Cop program would not exist... Many Thanks to these devoted Men and Women!

An Early Morning Parade!

The 60 car parade to Wal-Mart to Shop With a Cop! The 60 car parade is very exciting to view...Lights flashing and siren's sounding! The whole community wonders what is happening!

This Parade is the highlight of the Shop With a Cop event!

The Driving Force behind Shop With a Cop

The Driving Force behind Shop With a Cop is Betty! She founded SWAC in Grays Harbor County in 1999. This year's 2008 event was the SWAC 10th. Anniversary! Way to Go Betty!

What is Shop with a Cop?

Shop with a cop is a group of law enforcement officers throughout Grays Harbor County who assist deserving children in shopping for Christmas Gifts at Christmas time.
Over 60 deserving children are selected from over 20 grade schools throughout the County. They attend a breakfast provided by the Aberdeen Eagles and are then matched up with an Officer to ride in a patrol car, sounding the sirens and flashing the patrol car lights in a 60 vehicle parade to Wal-Mart to shop for Christmas gifts for themselves or other family members. This year, the 60 children each received $100.00 to purchase gifts.

The main purpose of having the children shop with an Officer is to show that Law enforcement Officers are really "The Good Guy's." Shopping with a caring Officer really makes an impression on the children and by the end of the shopping experience, they realize he is really a caring person.

Funds for this SWAC program are through donations from many businesses, Corporate institutions, Civic organizations, Law enforcement agencies and private citizens. Donations may be made to Shop With A Cop @ Grays Harbor Sheriff's association at the County Court House in Montesano, WA.

"The Big Event"

The Shop with a Cop event was held early this morning. A yummy breakfast at the Eagles was the big kick-off...with pictures with Santa, handing out certificates of appreciation and then off to the Patrol Cars for the big parade!

The children were thrilled to sound the siren, flash the lights and wind their way through downtown Aberdeen, to Wal-Mart. The shopping event was the highlight of the day!

Each assigned officer accompanied each child in selecting gifts for themselves and family members. It was an event to remember.

Thanks to all Sponsors, volunteers and Officers for participating in the SWAC program and making it a huge success!

We are looking forward to seeing you all next year...December 2009!
